We are a small bat rescue facility based just outside Ellon, Aberdeenshire.

Scotland is home to nine species of bat and all of them are under threat. Every year, volunteers all around Scotland rehabilitate hundreds of bats who have found themselves in a spot of bother. Many of these casualties are infants or juvenile bats.

The natural world is in crisis and many of our native species are at risk of extinction. At The Bat Bothy, we are dedicated to the protection and conservation of our native bats. Every individual matters and our goal is to get as many healthy bats back into the wild as possible.

Here at The Bat Bothy, we have big plans for bat conservation – from supporting our bat care volunteers to education and providing a sanctuary to bats in need. Watch this space!
